Artist Statement

“I pursue no objectives, no systems, no tendency; I have no program, no style, no direction. I have no time for specialized concerns, working themes, or variations that lead to mastery. I steer clear of definitions. I don’t know what I want. I am inconsistent, non-committal, passive; I like the indefinite, the boundless; I like continual uncertainty. Other qualities may be conducive to achievement, publicity, success; but they are all outworn as ideologies, opinions, concepts, and names for things.”
— Gerhard Richter

“Me too.”
— Manuel Ocampo

These words resonate deeply with me, and I claim them as my own. My work resists the burden of fixed meaning or consistent identity. Instead, it moves restlessly through forms, materials, and moods, refusing to be pinned down by a single style or program.

For me, art is not about mastery or the pursuit of a defined vision. It is about allowing uncertainty to remain alive in the work — the possibility that something unresolved, even contradictory, can exist without needing to be explained. I am drawn to the unstable, the open-ended, the space where images and ideas flicker without resolution.

To commit to one voice or one trajectory feels false. My practice is, instead, a continual negotiation with doubt, with shifting impulses, with the freedom of inconsistency. What I seek is not resolution but the possibility of endless becoming.
